Armstrong Family Services ("AFS"), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization named in honor of Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, was established in 1996. AFS joined UNITY for the Homeless to strengthen its program in the areas of case management, resources, and consultation. Our affiliation with UNITY allows us to collaborate with 72 recognized service providers.
We have as our goal the empowerment of families experiencing homelessness, by keeping them together and helping them to free themselves economically from public assistance and other dependencies through personal growth and economic development.
We believe a family should be able to provide social, emotional and economic support to its members regardless of the family configuration. In providing shelter care, support and encouragement to families in need, we would be a visible sign and instrument of the provision for God's children.
We have loving and caring staff members who are happy to assist you at anytime. We are a full service agency which means that "going the extra mile" is our norm.
